assistance with basic install and -whatif run

Hello,
I would appreciate a "primer" on the .bat file execution. I had errors running it and basically commented out the OS find xx | command which did not seem to work.

Once I got past that, I've attempted to run the -whatif scenario, but can't seem to properly locate the parameter.

I am attempting to run this on Windows Server 2008 R2 against an exisiting installation of SQL 2008 R2.

The sole purpose of the bat file is to detect the current OS version (core vs. full UI) and open the start-sqlspade.ps1 in the appropriate editor:
core - Notepad
Full-UI - PowerShell ISE

Can you provide the error that you were encountering with the batch file?

The -whatIf parameter is meant to show you the operations that would occur, such as the file copies. What is it that you are trying to do?

Thanks,
Michael
